Privacy policy

GearDuel is a static website. There are no accounts, no comment forms, and no newsletters — so we collect very little, and here is all of it.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages people visit and how they found them. GA4 sets cookies and collects usage data (pages viewed, approximate location, device type) as described in Google's privacy policy. We see aggregated reports, not your identity. You can block analytics with any standard content blocker or browser setting, and the site works exactly the same.

Affiliate links

GearDuel earns commissions through affiliate links to retailers such as Amazon. When you click one, the retailer may set cookies on their site to attribute your purchase. That happens under the retailer's privacy policy, not ours — we receive aggregate commission reports, never your personal purchase details. Affiliate relationships are disclosed on every page where links appear.

What we don't do

We don't sell or share personal data, run advertising networks, use tracking pixels beyond analytics, or store any information you'd need an account to create — because there are no accounts.

Email

If you email us (address on the contact page), we keep the email in order to reply to it. That's it. Ask us to delete the thread and we will.
